Dungeons & Dragons: ELWOOD LAMYNIUK??
24-01-2013, 12:01 PMThroughout the land of Faerun, highwaymen occupy well-travelled roads, demanding tolls to pass. If travellers do not co-operate, highwaymen take the liberty of helping themselves to their riches.
On the road to Daggerland, Geno (Adrian), Kaldeo (Alden), Kyo (Bryce), Ash (Jacob), and Thompson (Cole), were suddenly stopped by a peculiar individual wearing red garments and a bright yellow hat with a purple plume.
“Greetings you band of misfits. I am ELWOOD, highwayman extraordinaire!"
The grand introduction was accompanied by a sweeping bow, a wink, and a smile.
“For your safe passage I, ELWOOD LAMYNIUK, require 100 gold pieces from each of you.”
Unfamiliar with this strange individual and his equally strange attire, Kyo and his companions looked to one another and were thoroughly confused. Kyo, the courageous leader, then spoke with authority saying,
“We will not give you any gold, you big doody head! hehehehe!”
Elwood began to speak but stopped mid-sentence, realising the caravan was quickly moving forward, gaining speed and heading straight for him. A quick leap to the left and Elwood narrowly missed being run over.
Kyo and his band of “misfits” laughed as they sped past the frazzled highwayman. Their bold escape, however, was short-lived and their smiles turned upside down. Looking back at the bend in the road, Geno shouted to Kyo, who was leisurely driving the caravan,
“That silly man Elwood is CHASING US!!”
In the distance, Daggerland, their first stop in their journey to Luskan, was in sight. Geno, Kaldeo, Ash, and Thompson drew their bows and began firing arrows at their pursuer.
Can our heroes get to the gates of Daggerland and elude Elwood Lamyniuk?

Terra Cotta Snowmen
02-01-2013, 06:42 PMSince the holidays were coming up, the kids made their own snowman figurines to add more holiday cheer to your households! These tiny figurines were constructed with small terra cotta pots and styrofoam balls. We added some ribbons as scarves and used pieces of felt to make some toques to keep their snowman warm. The kids also used some pipe cleaners to give their snowman some arms and hands. This project fostered their motor skills and is a great creative outlet. These figurines were not too difficult to make and are darling little additions to your mantlepiece.
It's been a fantastic year and we had loads of fun with your kids. We wish you a wonderful holiday and a happy new year!
Cheers!

Hanging with Santa
20-12-2012, 09:36 AMOn December 3rd, the kids made Santa Claus doorknob hangers to kick off the holiday spirit. There were classic Santa hangers made, as well as some creative twists to the Old Man's outfit. This little art activity was a great way for the kids to start their decorating for the holidays.

Dance Party
15-12-2012, 09:46 AMTo cap off some days, we have chosen to throw the children an interactive “dance party”. The dance parties are frequently requested from the children and we try to execute them as often as possible. The parties allow the children to express themselves through dance and boost their confidence. They also allow the children to blow off any spare energy at the end of the day. The dancing facilitates learning and development of gross motor skills and cognitive stimulation, as well as laying the foundation for cooperative organisation. Many songs are requested repeatedly, but by far the most popular at the moment is "Gangnam Style". We've had children riding imaginary horses for many an afternoon the past few weeks...
