Are You Ready for the Spring to Come?

After few weeks of snow and rain, we finally got some beautiful
sunshine all week long! Since it is the last week before the long awaited
Spring Break, let us take a look of what has happened during this exciting
week.
Our 2014 pool tournament took place on Tuesday and Friday. This annual pool
tournament is entering its third year at Senior OSC and it has attracted
19 players to participate this year, making this year’s tournament more
competitive than ever!
In every sports game, there will be a winner and a loser but
our kids were not discouraged or disappointed by the results of their game. A player even told me, “It
doesn’t really matter that I lost. I am already having fun!” after
suffering an upsetting lost in a playoff elimination game.
Another one of our players told me, “It’s sad that I lost my game but I did make a new friend,” since he
had never played his opponent before the tournament
paired them with each other. They have gained new found respect and
friendships with each other over a thrilling game of pool.
The championship game will be held
after Spring Break. If you are interested in who will be playing in the
finals, please come by and check the pool tournament board. All the games logs,
stats, and standing are posted next to the Pirate Ship.
In the gym, Kylie brought the card game Werewolf” and
introduced it to the kids. The game has quickly caught the attention of the
kids and has created a new hype of “Werewolf “at OSC. The next time you have a
chance to visit, don't hesitate to join a round of werewolf with us, but beware
of the Werewolf attack!

Finally, in the park, we finally had a chance to enjoy the
sunshine and the cool breeze of Spring. The kids at OSC seem energized by the
nice weather and have been venturing to the park and getting their daily dose
of fresh air. The good news is the park will be open throughout the Spring and
over the course of Summer.
Next week, Spring Break will be here. This year, we have
prepared a series of electrifying out-trips, for example, “Fly Over Canada” the
4D movie and Burnaby Heritage Museum, to join in on a Scavenger Hunt . Not only
that, our talented OSC leaders have organized several exciting in-days, like Magic
day and Mystery day for our kids to experience.
Aren’t you excited the Spring to come? If you don’t have
time to come by and check things out feel free to check our blog to see our
out-trip and event photos we will continue to post through Spring Break!
Cheers,
Dennis
