Halloween Decorations

Hey everyone,
With Halloween around the corner, (can you
believe it?) it’s time to start thinking about decorations! This week, we made Halloween
characters and cobwebs! We decided to make monsters and witches, so we began
by cutting out squares of cardboard, then gluing popsicle sticks over top. We
then used felt, tissue paper, and markers to create their faces.
After finishing our Halloween characters, the
kids chose to make some cobwebs and ghosts! Keira tied popsicle sticks together
in an X, and then wrapped coloured string around them. She plans to hang them
from the ceiling and maybe cause a few scares! Anette worked on “The Ghost of Sungod Pool”; a very timely
creation as this was our most recent out trip!
Once the Halloween decorations were complete,
the kids wanted to further their artistic ideas using felt. Sean and Anette
began working on small, very cozy sleeping bags, while Livia, Emilia, and Keira
made lovely purses with buttons on them!
While we were preparing for Halloween, Ryan and
Monica were busy with origami and teaching the kids how to make flying cranes
among many other designs!
We have such a wonderfully creative bunch and
it is always exciting to see what they create!
