05-12-2012, 05:51 PMStarting in November, every Thursday is "Art Attack Day!" at West Richmond Sr. Out-of-School Care. Thanks to our Assistant Leader Jason Lee for his creative and innovative ideas. Jason provided the children in our program with a chance to try easy hands-on art projects that they can also do at home. This week, children are making 'Peacocks' out of coloured construction papers and tape.

Figure 1 |
Making a Paper Peacock looks easy but it still requires a bit of patience from the kids. First, kids need to cut the construction papers into stripes and then choose one of the colour paper stripe as the base as shown in Figure 1.
|
Figure 2 |
After several rolls of the colour stripes, we can taped the stripes together as shown in figure 2.

When the peacock's body is finished, we can use pencil to make peacock's curly tails.

Again, always to use your creativity, and explore your imagination with this art project! This week, our kids used their imaginations to create different kinds of beautiful peacocks. Starting next week, 'Art Attack' is going to start a 3 weeks project on making your 3D Photos.
Thanks for dropping by!
